Vaishno Devi, also known as Mata Rani, Trikuta and Vaishnavi, is a manifestation of the Hindu Mother Goddess of MahaKali, MahaSaraswati and MahaLakshmi. The words ““maa” and “mata” are commonly used in India for “mother”, and thus are often used in connection with Vaishno Devi. Vaishno Devi Mandir is a Hindu temple dedicated to the Hindu Goddess, located in Katra at the Trikuta Mountains within the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The Temple or Bhawan is 13.5 km from Katra and various modes of transportation are available from katra to Bhawan, including Ponies, Electric vehicles and paalkhis operated by 4 persons. Helicopter services are also available up to Sanjichhat, which is 9.5 km from Katra.  

 

Srinagar is the largest city and the summer capital of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. Day 2: Katra to Shivkhori Visit

Shivkhori, a divine shrine of an avatar of Lord Shiva, is located in the lap of nature in the form of a cave on a hillock in Udhampur district in India's own Heaven on Earth, Jammu and Kashmir. The 4-foot lingam was formed naturally in a cave. This self-manifested lingam of Lord Shiva is also known as Swayambhu and is of great importance in Hindu religion. According to some, the cave is dedicated to one of the forms of Lord Shiva, which is believed to be unborn and invisible. As one explores the cave, they experience the divine aura of this form of Lord Shiva.Shivkhori is an enchanting destination famous for its religious belief. The route inside the cave is challenging for many, and the thrill is worth experiencing as devotees are sure to feel blessed at the sight of the idol.

Nishat Bagh: Nishat Bagh is a terraced Mughal garden built on the eastern side of the Dal Lake, close to Srinagar in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is the second largest Mughal garden in the Kashmir Valley. The largest in size is the Shalimar Bagh, which is also located on the bank of the Dal Lake. ‘Nishat Bagh’ is Urdu, which means "Garden of Joy," "Garden of Gladness" and "Garden of Delight

Shalimar Bagh:-Shalimar Bagh is a Mughal garden in Srinagar, linked through a channel to the northeast of Dal Lake, on its right bank located on the outskirts of city in Kashmir, India. Its other names are Shalimar Garden, Shalimar Bagh, Farah Baksh and Faiz Baksh, and the other famous shore line garden in the vicinity is Nishat Bagh. The Bagh was built by Mughal Emperor Jahangir for his wife Noor Jahan, in 1619. The Bagh is considered the high point of Mughal horticulture. It is now a public park. This time it's also called as crown of Srinagar

Gulmarg is a town, a hill station, a popular skiing destination and a notified area committee in the Baramula district of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The town is situated in the Pirpanjal range in the western Himalayas.

Gulmarg Gondola in Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir is the world's second highest operating cable car since the closure in 2008 of the Mérida cable car in Venezuela and the opening in 2008 of the Dagu Glacier Gondola in Sichuan, China which reaches 4843 m.

Kongdori Asia’s largest and highest cable car project lead to Kongdori Mountain perched at an altitude of 3099.6 meters from the resort situated in Gulmarg. A bowl shaped area, it is known for its abundant opportunities for enjoyable sessions of powder skiing and snowboarding. As a popular destination for skiing, Kongdori has earned fame as one of the best Gulmarg tourist places to visit. A lofty mountain that adjoins Apharwat peak, Kongdori can rightly be called the skier’s paradise

Day 5: Srinagar to Sonamarg Visit to Srinagar

Sonmarg gives rise to The Three Sisters (Kashmir). In its vicinity lies the great Himalayan glaciers of Kashmir Valley namely Kowhai Glacier and Macho Glacier with some peaks of above 5000 meters: Siebel Peak, Kolhoi Peak, Amaranth Peak and Machos. Sonmarg an alpine valley is situated at the bank of Nallah Sindh, 87 km north-east from Srinagar, it is a popular tourist destination, nestled within the imposing Himalayan peaks. It lies at an altitude of 2800 metres above sea level. The drive to Sonmarg passes Nallah Sindh, the largest tributary of the Jhelum River in the valley of Kashmir. It is upwards of sixty miles long valley and deep rock-girt gorge to open grassy meadow land and village-dotted slopes.

White River Rafting One of the most exciting adventure activities in Sonmarg is whitewater rafting on the Indus river, along densely forested mountain regions and through steep gorges. Grade 4 rapids on the Indus River promises you an adrenaline rush. Anyone can enjoy this sport, be an expert rafter or a novice. You don’t necessarily need to know swimming to enjoy the rapids. The best time for rafting here is September through November and April through May. This is a must-do activity if you want to immerse yourself in the thrill of this serene countryside and deep forests. Enjoy the thrill of getting soaked in the icy cold waters within a few hours of the expedition.

Thajiwas Glacier  Located at the height of about 3000m above the sea level, this beautiful glacier is a hidden jewel of Kashmir. It is the primary attraction of Sonmarg in summer. It proudly boasts of lush green meadows and soaring snow-capped mountain peaks, making it one of the most picturesque tourist destinations. The site is also famous among trekkers as the path is quite adventurous. One can also encounter the Gujjar tribes with their camps living and earning their livelihood here.

Nilagrad River  With disease curing and healing powers, the Nilagrad  river is highly revered. A lot of locals come here every Sunday to take a dip into its waters. The scenic beauty all around it engulfs one too.

 Yusmarg or Yousmarg is a hill station in the western part of Kashmir Valleyin the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is situated 47 km south of Srinagar the capital of the state. Yusmarg in Kashmiri means The Meadow of Jesus. It is believed by the natives that Jesus came to Kashmir and stayed at Yusmarg for some time.  It is an alpine valley covered with snow clad mountains and the meadows of Pine and Fir, It lies 13 km south of Charari Sharief a town of Budgam districtof Jammu and Kashmir. It is situated at the bank of Doodganga River which is a tributary of Jehlum River. It is located in the Pir Panjal peaks, a sub range of Himalaya. The Peaks are: the Sunset Peak and the Tatakooti Peakfor which the expeditions lead from this hill station. It lies at an altitude of 2396 metres above sea level

Pehlgam is a town and a notified area committee in Anantnag district of the Indian state of Jammu & Kashmir. It is a popular tourist destination and hill station. It is located 45 kilometres (28 mi) from Anantnag on the banks of Ladder at an altitude of 7,200 feet (2,200 m). Pehlgam is the headquarters of one of the five tehsils of Anantnag district. Pehlgam is associated with the annual Amaranth Yatra. Chandanwari, located 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) from Pehlgam is the starting point of the yatra that takes place every year in the months of July–August.

Betaab valley is situated at a distance of 15 kilometers from Pahalgam in Anantnag district in India's northernmost state of Jammu and Kashmir. The valley got its name from the Sunny Deol-Amrita Singh hit debut film Betaab. The Valley is towards northeast of Pahalgam and falls between Pahalgam and Chandanwadi and is en route Amarnath Temple Yatra. The valley surrounded by lush green meadows, snow clad mountains and covered with dense vegetation.

Sheshnag Lake is an alpine high altitude oligotrophic lake situated at the track leading to Amarnath cave 23 kilometers from Pahalgam in Anantnag district of Kashmir valley in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir at an elevation of 3590 meters. It has a maximum length of 1.1 kilometers and maximum width of 0.7 kilometers.

Dal Lake:- Dal is a lake in Srinagar (Dal Lake is a misnomer as Dal in Kashmiri means lake), the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. The urban lake, which is the second largest in the state, is integral to tourism and recreation in Kashmir and is named the "Jewel in the crown of Kashmir" or "Srinagar's Jewel the Lake is also an important source for commercial operations in fishing and water plant harvesting

 Pari Mahal  is a mesmerizing historical monument located above the beautiful Chashme Shahi Gardens near Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. It is also called the abode of fairies or the home of angels with its six terraced gardens constructed on top of the Zabarwan Mountain Range. The gardens that surround the magnificent structure of Pari Mahal are exceptionally well maintained and are a treat for sore eyes. Nature lovers are sure to find this attraction fascinating....
